Saddness to the heart
The name is Kayla.
Last year at November 11, 2008 my soon-to-be cousin sadly passed away from cancer. This is his story. A couple of years ago My cousin, Lets call her Kristen, and her boyfriend, lets call him john, were very happy together. They have been a on and off thing for many years. Three to four years went by with them dating. Finally he purposed to her in Florida on January 23, 2007. He promised her that their wedding was going to be the wedding of her dreams. They were planning on getting married April 28, 2009, but suddenly he wasn’t feeling like himself. Days went by with this feeling, with him feeling like he wasn’t his self. They finally went to the docter. They descovered that he had cancer. They told him that they could remove the cancer but it would be a huge risk. Kristen and John talked about it and decided that they would take the risk and let the surgery happen. The surgery was a success. They romoved, what they thought, was all of the cancer. While he was still in the hospital he got worse. The doctors couldn’t understand what was happening. They realized after the brought him into the ER that they actually made the cancer spread faster. They got what they thought was all of it, but with opening it up to air, it made it that much easier for the cancer to spread. The doctors then sadly told Kristen that he had about 4 to 5 months left. It was very devistating to find out that the one person that was going to be in my family that I trusted dearly was going to pass away. I prayed every night and every day hoping he would get better. Wishing there was someway to help him stay. He just got worse with each day that passed by. A couple months went by. It was my birthday =). I was so happy that day. Well, most of the way. John wasn’t there, either was Kristen. They were at the hospital. Kristen has been with John at the hospital every night just to be with him and tell him how much she loved him and how that every minute she spent with him she would charish. After my birthday party, I went home nd layed in bed til around 11:30ish. I was just drifting off to sleep when I hear the phone rings. My mother answered the phone. I could hear the sadness in her voice. After she hung up, she walked slowly to my room, opened my door, and with a tear rolling down her face, told me that John had passed away. The day of my birthday my favorite alomst-to-be cousin had passed away. I hope this is something that no one has to go through. I understand how hard it is to loose a person so close to you. It’s a hard thing to deal with, and a hard thing to live with. It’s now been about five months and its felt like he was gone only for a moment. For those that have lost anyone, I am sorry. I hope that this story has helped some people think. Think of the moment your with your loved ones and spend as much time as you can with them. Charish every minute you spend with them. You never know what is going to happen.
